His best performance came in a game where he played in four special teams plays against Duquesne and Texas Tech. His efforts were recognized with the WVU Scout Team Offensive Champion award for his work during the TCU game and Scout Team Special Teams Champion awards for the Pitt and Baylor games.
During his redshirt sophomore year, McBee again earned Academic All-Big 12 Conference First-Team honors, reflecting his academic achievements alongside his athletic success. He appeared in three games and was awarded the WVU Scout Team Offensive Champion for his performance during the Cincinnati game.
